HOUSE DRAWING | 2 POINT PERSPECTIVE

MATERIALS: Sketchbook, ruler, pencil, eraser, warm clothes.

PROCESS:

1. Take a PHOTO of house to finish in class later this week.
2. Draw a house of your choice from OBSERVATION using lines in 2 POINT PERSPECTIVE.

• Start with HORIZON LINE towards middle/top third of page.
• Add CORNER of house finger length in height.
• Draw CONVERGING LINES towards each vanishing point to define sides or house, street, sidewalks, windows, etc.
• Add DETAIL and VALUE (shading) to create depth and interest.

• shingles, bricks, stairs, frames, doors, windows, trees, bushes, sidewalk, street, cars...
• sunlight = highlights, trees + clouds = shadows, darker = FOREGROUND, lighter = BACKGROUND
